The longest home run of the 2014 Major League Baseball season belongs to Todd Frazier of the Cincinnati Reds.
Frazier crushed a blast off Colorado Rockies starter Jhoulys Chacin on Friday at Cincinnati’s Great American Ballpark that traveled an estimated 485 feet. The homer narrowly surpassed Miami Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton’s 484-foot bomb on April 4.
Frazier’s home run is the fifth-longest of the last four seasons but actually is just the sixth-longest in the 11-year history of the Great American Ballpark. Adam Dunn’s 535-foot jack on Aug. 10, 2004, still stands as the longest at the Reds’ current yard.
