The long-confirmed rebranding of the Charlotte Bobcats into the Charlotte Hornets finally is becoming a reality.

Charlotte’s NBA franchise will officially retire the Bobcats name and color scheme Tuesday, the day of the 2014 draft lottery, in favor of the classic Hornets moniker and color scheme, Marc J. Spears of Yahoo Sports reported. The new logo, which can be seen below, differs slightly from the one the previous Charlotte franchise used from 1988 to 2002 before moving to New Orleans.

The Bobcats/Hornets do not have a pick in the lottery after earning the No. 7 seed in the Eastern Conference playoffs, where they lost to the Miami Heat in four games. They traded their 16th overall pick to the Chicago Bulls but acquired the No. 24 pick in a trade with the Portland Trail Blazers.
