Philadelphia Phillies fans are accustomed to watching their team lose games. After all, the Phillies have lost nearly 10,500 games in their 100-plus year history.
The future looked bright for the Phillies in 2007 when they ended their 13-year playoff drought. One year later, Philadelphia won the World Series — its first championship since 1980 — in a five-game series win over the Tampa Bay Rays, then lost to the New York Yankees in the 2009 Fall Classic.
But after losing to the St. Louis Cardinals in the 2011 NLDS, it all started to fall apart for the Phillies. They have failed to reach the postseason in each of the last two years and have started the 2014 campaign 21-26.
To make matters worse, the Phillies were no-hit by Los Angeles Dodgers starter Josh Beckett on Sunday. All of this losing has forced one store to put a few Phillies shirts with the statement “All We Do Is Win” on the clearance rack. It seems strange that someone would make “All We Do Is Win” shirts for the team that has lost the most games in MLB history.
