Little League coaches everywhere are cringing after watching the Colorado Rockies on Saturday.
Already up 5-2 in the third inning, the Milwaukee Brewers added three runs without even taking a swing of the bat. Rockies pitcher Christian Friedrich uncorked a wild pitch that got by catcher Michael McKenry. The ensuing play made the Bad News Bears look like an All-Star team.

Mckenry’s initial throw to try to nab the first runner was bad enough, but Friedrich made it even worse when he fell asleep and forgot the play was still live, giving Jean Segura an opportunity to score a third run on the play.
Things didn’t get better for Friedrich, as he was charged as the losing pitcher in the 9-4 defeat. Maybe the Rockies should go back to learning the fundamentals.
