Carey Price, Zdeno CharaThe Boston Bruins will be opening the 2014-15 season against the same team that sent them packing last month.

The Bruins released their preseason schedule Friday for the upcoming season, a slate that includes two games each against the Washington Capitals, Detroit Red Wings and New York Islanders, and one — the opener — against the Montreal Canadiens.

Unlike in some years past, the B’s will enjoy a pretty standard travel schedule throughout the preseason, playing six of their seven games in NHL arenas. The one exception is the team’s Oct. 3 tilt against the Islanders, which will be played at the home of the Isles’ AHL affiliate in Bridgeport, Conn.
