Boston’s wooing of Kevin Love just reached a new level.
The city welcomed the potential newest member of the Boston Celtics with open arms over the weekend, as he explored the area and was even spotted hanging out with Rajon Rondo at Fenway Park on Sunday afternoon during the Boston Red Sox-Tampa Bay Rays game.
It didn’t take long for news to travel that Love was in the ballpark, and Red Sox slugger David Ortiz definitely took notice. Big Papi knows a thing or two about coming to Boston from Minnesota and participating in a few duck boat parades, so he gave Love a pretty solid pitch.

That’s right, it appears Boston has brought in the big guns.
Only time will tell if Love, who has said he’s “open” to playing for Boston, will take Ortiz up on his offer. But the last time a Timberwolves star — Kevin Garnett — moved to Boston, it worked out pretty well for both sides.
