If you’re watching a baseball game and see a foul ball coming your way, you have two options: try to catch it, or get as far away from it as you can.

This guy did neither.

As Arizona Diamondbacks third baseman Martin Prado ranged toward the seats Sunday to track down a foul off the bat of San Francisco Giants second baseman Joe Panik, one fan instead leaned his head directly into Prado’s path.

Bold strategy, let’s see if it paid off for him:

Neither player nor fan were injured on the play, but the Diamondbacks as a whole were not so lucky. Panik proceeded double later in the at-bat, driving in San Francisco’s third run of the ninth inning. Prado got one back with an RBI single in the bottom of the frame, but Giants closer Sergio Romo shut the door to seal a 4-1 win for the visitors.
