When a trick play is executed to perfection, it plays in highlight reels for weeks.

When it flops, it plays in highlight reels for months.

This blunder happened in itsĀ Round of 16 game between Germany andĀ Algeria during a free kick. After lining up five players around the ball during the kick, several German players started running past the ball to fake out the Algerian defense. However, instead of running past the ball, Thomas Muller tripped and fell.

After Muller’s faux pas, hilarity ensued on Twitter.
