MLB: Minnesota Twins at Boston Red SoxIt’s not very often that a pitcher throws nine shutout innings and doesn’t get the win, but at least John Lackey earned Amica Pitcher of the Week honors as consolation for his performance against the Minnesota Twins on Wednesday.

While Lackey was dealing, Twins starter Kyle Gibson was doing the same, so the Red Sox were unable to plate a runner during Lackey’s nine stellar innings. He earned a tough luck no-decision, giving up just three hits while striking out nine and walking only one batter.

Lackey was helping out a winning effort though, as David Ortiz and Mike Napoli hit back-to-back solo home runs for the walk-off win in the 10th inning. He’s scheduled to get the ball Monday against the Seattle Mariners, so let’s see if he can pull out another W for the team.
