Liverpool 2014-15 Schedule: Manchester City, Everton Among Early Tests

Luis SuarezLiverpool officially announced its schedule for the 2014-15 English Premier League season.

Liverpool will open its campaign Aug. 16 in a home game against Southampton at Anfield before traveling to Manchester City on Aug. 23 to take on the reigning EPL champions. The Reds will square off with crosstown rival Everton for the first time of the season Sept. 27 at Anfield.

Liverpool had a strong 2013-2014 campaign, finishing just two points behind Manchester City in second place in the Premier League and qualifying for the 2014-25 UEFA Champions League for the first time since 2008-09.

The Reds were led by Premier League Golden Boot winner Luis Suarez, who finished as the league’s leading scorer with 31 goals in 38 games played.
