Marcus Smart, Kelly Olynyk Named To Celtics’ Summer League Roster

Jarrett Jack, Anderson Varejao, Kelly OlynykJust two days after the 2014 NBA draft, the Boston Celtics have finalized their summer league roster.

Top rookies Marcus Smart and James Young will be part of the squad that will play in Orlando, Fla.. Smart, Boston’s selection at No. 6, is coming off a season at Oklahoma State where he averaged 18 points per game to go along with 4.8 assists. Young added 14.3 points per contest during his freshman season at Kentucky.

Kelly Olynyk will be on the summer squad for the second consecutive season. Olynyk dropped 18.8 points per game during the summer season last year but scored just 8.7 per contest during the regular season.

Center Colton Iverson, who played last season in Turkey, will also be on the roster. Iverson has a two-year deal in Turkey but does have a player option to return to the Celtics this year. Jared Sullinger will also be with the team but will just be working out.

The Celtics’ schedule includes tilts with the Oklahoma City Thunder, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers and the Orlando Magic. The team’s first game against the Thunder is set for July 5.
