Baltimore Orioles minor leaguer Quintin Berry made a memorable, albeit ultimately confusing, exit following his ejection Thursday night.

The former Red Sox speedster is now with the Norfolk Tides, the Triple-A affiliate of the O’s, and he’s still motoring around the bases — just not at the right times. After Berry collected his first hit of the night in the ninth inning against the Syracuse Chiefs, the outfielder was ejected after getting into some sort of exchange with the first-base umpire.

Berry didn’t exactly handle the news well, so after getting tossed, he proceeded to trot around the bases before sliding feet-first into home.

The announcers were stunned by Berry’s actions, unsure of what was even unfolding at first, and they weren’t the only ones who found it bizarre.

“I ain’t never seen that in my life,” Syracuse left fielder Destin Hood said after the game, via Syracuse.com. “I didn’t know what happened. Then I saw him chirping and I was like, he’s just trying to be funny.”
