New York Rangers fans know how to throw a decent outdoor viewing party.

With the Rangers taking on the Los Angeles Kings in Game 1 of the Stanley Cup Final all the way across the country at the Staples Center, Blueshirts fans took over Manhattan’s Bryant Park to enjoy their team’s first Cup Final appearance in 20 years.

Viewing parties for playoff games have become pretty standard over the past few years, but none can hold a candle to the scene that was captured from above New York on Wednesday night.

The atmosphere was electric, with “Rangerstown” erupting after Benoit Pouliot opened the scoring in the first period on a breakaway.

Although Bryant Park was certainly the place to be last night, the party ended on somewhat of a sour note as the Rangers dropped Game 1 after a Justin Williams overtime goal.
