The disco era came back to Tampa Bay this weekend.

During Saturday’s contest against the Houston Astros, the last-place Tampa Bay Rays held a “Turn Back the Clock Night” at Tropicana Field. The Rays, of course, did not become a Major League team until 1998, but they got into ’70s spirit anyways by wearing ‘fauxback’ jersys. The retro look is interesting to say the least.

The Astros went back to their classic orange-and-yellow-striped jerseys for the special occasion.

Say what you will about Tampa Bay’s fake throwbacks, but you can’t question their performance on the field — the Rays won the game 8-0. After that result, we might be seeing more of these jerseys this season.
