MLB: Boston Red Sox at Minnesota TwinsThe Boston Red Sox activated starting pitcher Clay Buchholz from the disabled list Wednesday, and he’ll take the mound in the series finale against the Seattle Mariners.

Buchholz was placed on the disabled list May 28 after he hyperextended his knee during a start against the Atlanta Braves on May 26. He’s 2-4 with a 7.02 ERA in 10 starts this season.

To make roster room for Buchholz, the Red Sox designated reliever Chris Capuano for assignment. Capuano started the season strong, not allowing a run in his first 12 appearances, but the left-hander has struggled of late. He gave up five earned runs in his last relief appearance, raising his ERA to 4.55.
