The passing of 15-time MLB All-Star Tony Gwynn rocked the baseball world on Monday, as players, coaches and managers from around the league reflected on the impact one of baseball’s best pure hitters left on the game.
On Wednesday, Boston Red Sox executive vice president Sam Kennedy joined Tom Caron on the set of “Red Sox First Pitch” to share some of his memories of Gwynn. Kennedy spent five seasons with the San Diego Padres’ front office before joining the Red Sox in 2002, and like most figures around baseball, he spoke incredibly highly of Gwynn’s character on and off the diamond.
