Report: Joel Anthony Will Opt In For Final Year Of Celtics Contract

The 31-year-old big man, who is set to make $3.8 million in 2014-15, will opt in for the final year of his contract with the Boston Celtics, a source told Alex Kennedy of Basketball Insiders.

Anthony played sparingly after being acquired from the Miami Heat in a three-team deal this past January, averaging 7.1 minutes per game in his 21 appearances in a Celtics uniform.

The UNLV product averaged 1.0 points, 1.5 rebounds and 0.4 blocks per game over that span, with his most productive performance coming in a season-ending loss to the Washington Wizards (five points, four boards, one assist, one block, one steal in 29 minutes).
