Brandon Flowers, Josh GordonThe New England Patriots already stacked up on cornerbacks in free agency, but now they’re just getting greedy.

The Patriots are “in the mix” for free-agent cornerback Brandon Flowers, a source told The Baltimore Sun’s Aaron Wilson. Flowers was released by the Kansas City Chiefs on Friday. The Patriots have shown just “a little interest” in Flowers, a source told the Boston Herald’s Jeff Howe.

Flowers visited the San Diego Chargers on Wednesday, according to Wilson. Flowers also has received interest from the Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens and Minnesota Vikings.

Flowers is just three years removed from signing a five-year, $50 million contract — a deal that played into the Chiefs’ decision to cut ties with the 2013 Pro Bowl selection.

The Patriots already signed high-priced cornerbacks Darrelle Revis and Brandon Browner this offseason to add to a young nucleus that includes Alfonzo Dennard, Logan Ryan and Kyle Arrington. It’s unlikely that the Patriots add Flowers, but Revis did miss Wednesday’s minicamp practice.
