Rob Gronkowski’s Progress Encouraging, But Patriots Need Tight End (Video)

The New England Patriots should be thankful that Rob Gronkowski can even step on a football field this spring.

Gronkowski wasn’t healthy enough to participate in organized team activities last offseason, so it’s a positive sign that the All-Pro tight end already has been on the practice field — albeit limited — in 2014.

The Patriots would be wise to add depth, however, with just Michael Hoomanawanui, D.J. Williams and two undrafted free agents (Justin Jones and Asa Watson) behind Gronk on the depth chart. NESN.com Patriots beat writer Doug Kyed joined Bleacher Report’s Team Stream Now to discuss the odds of adding free-agent tight ends Dustin Keller and Jermichael Finley.
