Robert Griffin III did an awesome thing this weekend when he helped a Maryland teen ask a classmate to prom.

The “prom-posal” was orchestrated by Centreville High School student Morgan Assel to ask classmate Juwaan Espinal to prom. Espinal is non-verbal and suffers from cerebral palsy, and Assel wanted to make the event extra special.

Assel enlisted RG3’s help in carrying a banner at a lacrosse game on Friday that read, “I know I’m not as cool as RGIII, but will you go to the prom with me?” Much to Espinal’s surprise, Griffin, who happens to be Espinal’s favorite football player, popped out from behind the banner.

Espinal accepted Assel’s proposal, and delighted in taking photos with his personal hero, according to WJLA.

“I’m just really excited and really grateful that RGIII came to help Juwaan. It just really means a lot that people are willing to do this for him because he is such a special person and he really deserves it,” Assel said.
