MostĀ of us have been there before: you get off the plane at your new destination and head down to the baggage claim, only to learn that your bags got lost along the way and are now 2,000 miles away.

The unfortunate mix-up is always a nuisance, but for golfer Rory McIlroy, his misplaced bags were a bit more of an issue.

After a disappointing finish at the U.S. Open over the weekend, McIlroy packed up his clubs and hopped on a flight to Ireland on Monday morning to prepare for the Irish Open, which starts Thursday. His clubs didn’t make it with him.

To the airline’s credit, United reached out to McIlroy on Twitter two hours later.

About 20 minutes after that, United responded yet again with some “good news.”

A day without his beloved clubs probably won’t hinder the Irish golfer too much, but it’s certainly not a good look for United Airlines.

Better take those clubs as a carry-on next time, Rory.
