Stephen Drew Out; Jonathan Herrera, Alex Hassan In Red Sox Lineup

Alex HassanStephen Drew had a rather quiet 2014 debut with the Boston Red Sox on Monday, going 0-for-2 with a walk and a strikeout in a streak-breaking 3-2 loss to the Cleveland Indians.

As the Red Sox look to get back in the win column on Tuesday, Drew will take a seat in favor of switch-hitting shortstop Jonathan Herrera, who will bat ninth against left-handed Indians pitcher T.J. House.

Even with Drew out of the lineup, Xander Bogaerts will make his second consecutive start at third base and bat second. The other major change in the Sox batting order is the return of rookie Alex Hassan, who will replace Grady Sizemore in right field and bat seventh.

Sizemore went hitless in four at-bats in his first game in Cleveland since leaving the club in 2011. Hassan, a native of Quincy, Mass., recorded a hit in his first major league game in a 4-0 win over the Tampa Bay Rays on Sunday.

Taking the mound for Boston will be right-hander Jake Peavy, who has allowed two runs or less in five of his last six starts.
