Kendrick Perkins, Rajon Rondo, Jeff GreenOklahoma City Thunder center Steven Adams had himself a nice little rookie season. However, he me might be remembered in the near future for what he said during his exit interviews on Monday.

The New Zealand native spoke for about 10 minutes with reporters, and he answered questions with the driest of wits. Adams answered all of the questions and went outside of the box for some of his answers. For example, when asked what surprised him most in his first NBA season, Adams revealed how much he marveled at the private planes the teams fly on from city to city.

“It’s just amazing, never seen nothing like it,” he said. “Tables — tables on planes, that’s amazing.”

Adams was then pressed further about any sort of on-court “Welcome to the NBA” moments. After struggling to find one, Adams finally recalled a story from a Thunder practice in which he got into a scuffle with center Kendrick Perkins.

“There would be a day, Perk, he was there. And we were like scrimmaging or whatever, and we kinda got into it, like we clashed. I’m innocent, I didn’t do anything, I accidentally hit him,” Adams recalled.

“And then like, he turned around and elbowed me in the ribs, and I’m like ‘Oh my God’. Then he just yelled at me: ‘I’m the only silverback!’ I was like ‘What the…?’ So that was a big check, it was like, ‘We got some animals in the NBA. Whoa.'”

That was just one of the many highlights from Adams’ memorable media session.
