All anybody knew about the No. 20 pick when the Toronto Raptors made it Thursday night was that the player’s first name was Bruno. That was enough for the Toronto Sun newspaper.

The irreverent tabloid poked fun at the Raptors’ choice of Bruno Caboclo, a just about completely unknown prospect out of Brazil, by putting a photo of comedian Sacha Baron Cohen’s “Bruno” character on its back page. Actually, calling Caboclo a “prospect” is generous, since almost no expert had him in their top 100 players eligible for the 2014 NBA draft.

But judging by the Sun’s treatment of the pick, it’s much more entertaining that the Raptors made such an obscure selection, rather than a much more predictable — and boring — one at that spot.
