fansIt wasn’t pretty, but the United States is moving on to the knockout round of the 2014 World Cup despite losing to Germany 1-0 on Thursday afternoon.

Thomas Muller scored his fourth goal of the World Cup in the 55th minute to propel the Germans to victory, taking Group G in the process.

Heavy rainfall created quite the scene in Recife, Brazil, making things interesting until the final whistle. The U.S. had its chances, including two at the end of stoppage-time, but couldn’t break through and was held scoreless for the first time in this year’s tournament.
