The Washington Redskins have been under fire about their team name for some time now, as many are imploring the organization to make a change.
Team general manager Bruce Allen wrote a letter to Senator Harry Reid defending the team’s name recently, claiming that “an overwhelming majority of Native Americans do not find the name offensive.”
The Redskins also used rapper Wale and “Jeopardy!” host Alex Trebek to show support of the team’s current name.
Regardless, pressure to make a switch still exists and only continues to grow as each day passes. If Washington does ultimately decide to make a change, here are some suggestions that we came up with for them.
