Colombia romped to a comfortable victory over Japan, while Greece stunned Ivory Coast to clinch a spot in the knockout rounds.

Colombia had little to play for in the second half. Colombia would have won the group with a draw, but it thrilled its fans with a three-goal explosion in the second half.

Rodriguez is proving himself to be a star in this tournament, and he added a goal and an assist in the second half.

Colombia tops Group C in the end. It will face Uruguay on Saturday in the Round of 16.

Meanwhile, Greece stunned Ivory Coast with a 2-1 victory. Greece finishes runner-up in Group C and reaches the knockout phase for the first time in its history.

Greece will take on Costa Rica on Sunday in the Round of 16.

Ivory Coast forward Salomon Kalou missed the target with a curling effort. Moments later, Greece captain Georgios Karagounis hit the crossbar with a long-range shot, which would have put the Greeks into the Round of 16 had it gone in the goal.

The substitute James Rodriguez created the danger with a dribble inside Japan’s penalty area. Rodriguez then made no-look pass to Martinez, whose deflected shot beat Japan goalkeeper Eiji Kawashima.

Colombia made two changes during the interval. Juan Quintero is replaced by James Rodriguez. The goal scorer Cuadrado comes off with Carlos Carbonero taking his place.

Ivory Coast midfielder Cheik Tiote was under no pressure when he lost the ball in his own half. Greece forward Georgios Samaras was the willing recipient. Samaras then passed to Samaris, who dribbled into the area and beat Ivory Coast goalkeeper Boubacar Barry.
