Zach Johnson pulled off a celebration Happy Gilmore would be proud of Sunday morning at the 2014 U.S. Open.
The former Masters champion made a hole-in-one on the par-3 ninth hole at Pinehurst, and he celebrated like any normal human being would after accomplishing such a feat on a big stage. Johnson savored the moment as he tossed his club up in the air, fist pumped like a champ and ran to the gallery to give high-fives to the cheering fans.
Why not, right? He had some extra time on his hands since he didn’t have to putt.
Johnson’s ace was the 44th in U.S. Open history, and it marked the third year in a row a player has hit a hole-in-one at the tournament.
