Greg MonroeOh, those precious, halcyon days of three weeks ago, when game-changing free agents were everywhere and anything seemed possible.

The 2014 NBA free agent class has thinned out a bit since LeBron James, Carmelo Anthony and a couple of other big stars decided where they want to play for the next couple of years. There is not anyone left on the market who will immediately transform a team into a championship contender. There might not even be anyone who will transform a team into a playoff contender.

But there are still a few quality players left unsigned. Whether it turns out to be patience rewarded or pickiness punished remains to be seen.
