In case you didn’t know, Brazilian soccer fans really like Neymar.

The superstar striker will miss the rest of the 2014 FIFA World Cup after fracturing his vertebrae last week during a 2-1 win over Colombia in the quarterfinals.

As Brazil prepares to face Germany in the semifinals Tuesday afternoon, though, thousands of loyal supporters will ignore this fact and descend on Belo Horizonte sporting some rather creepy cut-out masks of Neymar’s head.

These haunting masks are the result of a massive ad campaign by several Brazilian newspapers, who have joined forces to print a total of 120,000 cut-out Neymar masks on their pages.

The impromptu movement even has its own website, SomosTodosNeymar.com — which translates to “We Are All Neymar” — complete with a message urging Brazilian fans to join in solidarity in Neymar’s absence.

“If Neymar can’t get on the field, we will go for him,” part of the translated message reads. ” … On Tuesday, we are all Neymar.”

Brazil’s overwhelming support for its injured star is touching, but the team might need some extra help to defeat a tough German squad without its best player.

Then again, the sight of thousands of Neymars floating in the crowd could be enough to throw any opponent off their game.
