How quickly fans forgive.
Less than eight hours after LeBron James announced his royal return to Northeast Ohio, the Cleveland Cavaliers sold out all of their season tickets and were forced to cap season-ticket sales at around 12,000, ESPN’s Darren Rovell reported, citing a team source.
Around 8,000 tickets per game are available for group sales, ticket plans and individual tickets. Those probably will sell like hot cakes, too.
Before LeBron’s announcement, the deposit for Cavaliers season tickets was $200. That was raised to $500 after the decision, and the team still was able to sell out.
Last season, the Cavaliers played to a per-game capacity of 84 percent at Quicken Loans Arena, and in 2012, that figure was near 77 percent. Expect that number to jump right back to 100 percent, like it was in 2010, now that James is back.
It seems like Cavaliers fans forgot all the venom they spewed on King James after he departed for Miami four years ago.
