Celtics Summer Leaguer Dairis Bertans Hospitalized After Neck Injury (Video)

The biggest worry most summer leaguers have is whether they will earn a roster spot with an NBA team. On Wednesday, those worries were temporarily displaced by something more serious.

Dairis Bertans, a Latvian guard competing with the Boston Celtics in Orlando, had to be wheeled off the court and hospitalized after injuring his neck in a head-first collision with the basket stanchion during Wednesday’s game. Bertans was expected to be released from the hospital Wednesday night after a CT scan showed no serious damage, Chris Forsberg of ESPN Boston reports.

It is uncertain if Bertans will suit up again in summer league, which ends Friday.
