Clint Dempsey will be featured on the North American cover of EA Sports’ “FIFA 15” after his impressive performance for Team USA at the 2014 FIFA World Cup.

Dempsey, who scored two of the team’s five goals in the tournament, joins Argentina and FC Barcelona star Lionel Messi on the cover of the video game.

Back in the U.S., Dempsey plays for the MLS’ Seattle Sounders, who tweeted out a picture of their star player on the cover.

EA Sports even tweeted out some looks of alternate covers with Dempsey and Messi.

“It’s crazy. It’s really cool,” Dempsey said in a phone interview with Fox Soccer. “I was a fan of the game growing up, playing with my friends. Going from playing the game with my friends to being able to play with my own player in the game and now being on the cover, it’s something that’s pretty special. It’s an honor.”

Here’s how Sounders made the announcement at CenturyLink Field.

Dempsey scored the quickest goal in World Cup history against Ghana, then gave the U.S. a late 2-1 lead against Portugal when he converted a goal off his chest. He has four career goals in eight World Cup matches.
