Reggie Wayne sent a pretty loud message when the veteran wide receiver showed up to training camp on Wednesday.

Wayne arrived via Indy car driven by Ed Carpenter, donning a firesuit and a Colts helmet.

There certainly is meaning to Wayne’s mode of transportation. The wideout is coming off a disappointing 2013, which was cut short by a knee injury. Wayne has declared himself good to go, though, ahead of a season with plenty of promise for the upstart Colts.

“I feel fast,” Wayne told reporters.

Dramatic training camp arrivals are nothing new for Wayne. The 35-year-old has arrived in past years in a helicopter, a dump truck and a military convoy.

The former All-Pro and six-time Pro Bowler appeared in just seven games last year. He was able to catch 38 passes for 503 yards and two touchdown before going down with the injury. If he stays healthy this season, however, he and Indianapolis quarterback Andrew Luck could be one of the NFL’s most dynamic quarterback-receiver combinations.
