It’s been one rough year for San Francisco Giants second baseman Dan Uggla.

Uggla started the year with the Atlanta Braves, where he hit just .162 with a .241 on-base percentage. Atlanta released him after 48 horrendous games.

The Giants took a chance on the struggling Uggla last Monday when they signed him to a minor league deal. After starting second baseman Marco Scutaro was placed on the disabled list, Uggla got his chance to redeem himself in the Bay Area when got the start at Sunday night against the rival Los Angeles Dodgers.

The change in scenery doesn’t appear to have helped him, however.

Uggla somehow allowed a routine ground ball slip right between his legs. He’s now committed three errors in as many games for the Giants, giving him 126 miscues in nine seasons in the big leagues.

He hasn’t had much luck with the bat either, as he is 0-for-8 so far with San Francisco. It seems like things can’t get any worse for Uggla at this point.
