Ex-big leaguer Dmitri Young got a whole lot smaller, so much that he looks half the size he used to be.

Young spent 13 seasons in Major League Baseball, belting 171 home runs and hitting .292 for his career. He was anĀ All-Star back in 2003 and 2008 and always was larger than life on the field.

Young visited Great American Ball Park on Friday to catch a game between two of his former teams, the Cincinnati Reds and Washington Nationals. The photo on the left is Young back in his playing days, and the photo on the right is what he looked like when he showed up Friday.

How ironic is it that Young, whose name was Da Meat Hook, is wearing a bacon T-shirt in a photo where people are amazed by how much weight he has lost? Regardless, he must have had a truly intense weight-loss program.

In case you were wondering, Young had just 25 career steals in 1,364 games. We’re willing to bet he might have swiped a few more bags looking the wayĀ he does today.
