John FarrellBOSTON — The waiting game continues.

The Red Sox didn’t have any major trade announcements to make Monday before beginning a six-game homestand at Fenway Park. According to Red Sox manager John Farrell, the club isn’t closing in on any deals at this time.

“I can tell you there’s nothing imminent as it relates to the rumors you mentioned,” Farrell said. “The rumors are being circulated in every clubhouse around the game right now. It’s just where we are with the deadline coming up on Thursday.”

Several Red Sox-centric rumors have floated around cyberspace over the last few days, with Jon Lester, Koji Uehara, Andrew Miller, Burke Badenhop, Stephen Drew, Jonny Gomes and Craig Breslow among those considered potential trade candidates because of their impending free agencies.

Lester obviously represents the most intriguing situation, given his status as Boston’s ace.
