Starting pitcher Jon Lester’s Twitter activity after being traded from the Boston Red Sox to the Oakland Athletics on Thursday might reveal something about his future plans.
ESPN/Grantland columnist and Boston sports fanatic Bill Simmons sent out a tweet thanking Lester for his time on the Red Sox, telling him he’d see him in Boston in 2015. That tweet was one of just two tweets that Lester favorited after the trade, making some wonder if he really does have plans to re-sign with Boston after his contract is up at the end of this season.
Of course, this is all speculation and should be taken with a grain of salt. But it is interesting that of all of the mentions he received on Twitter all day, he chose that one to notice.
