New York Mets fans have dealt with years of frustration. One fan’s anger reached a boiling point Thursday night at Citi Field.

The Atlanta Braves held a two-run lead in the eighth inning, but the Mets were on the comeback trail. With outfielder Juan Lagares at the plate and runners at second and third base, the Amazin’s appeared primed to get right back in the game. Jordan Walden had other plans, however.

The Braves reliever induced a weak foul pop-up to first baseman Freddie Freeman, and the Mets could not score a run. A fan sitting along the first base side was beside himself after the out.

This man’s clear frustration embodies a fan base that has endured four consecutive losing seasons and is in the middle of a fifth.

The fan surely wasn’t any happier at the end of the game, as Atlanta held on for a 3-1 win.
