Mississippi State, Kansas State ADs Schedule Football Games On Twitter

Twitter is becoming a venue for athletic directors to book college football games.

Mississippi State’s Scott Stricklin and Kansas State’s John Currie had a brief exchange on the social media website Friday, when they agreed to have their football teams play each other in 2018 and 2019.

At the end of a video supporting a charity for breast cancer research, Currie said, “We think that Mississippi State ought to come here at Bill Snyder Family Stadium and play a little football sometime.”

After tweeting the video to Stricklin, the Wildcats athletic director accepted the challenge:

Stricklin acquiesced.

No specific dates were arranged, and the home-and-home series isn’t official yet because there’s still paperwork to be done. But assuming it does happen, it’ll be the first time Twitter has been used to arrange a college football game.

Pretty soon, we might start seeing NBA free agency negotiations on Twitter.
