After ending its 2013 campaign with a 40-35 Orange Bowl loss to Clemson, Ohio State likely can’t wait to start the 2014 season.

A completely renovated football facility should make the Buckeyes even more giddy.

Ohio State’s football stadium and adjacent facilities are both undergoing multimillion dollar renovations, and apparently they’re going quite well. Buckeyes head coach Urban Meyer used social media to give followers a peek of the impressive improvements, which include a state-of-the-art locker room and an illuminated waterfall.

In a vacuum, these renovations would be major news. In today’s world of Division I football, though, luxurious football facilities have almost become commonplace. Not surprisingly, Oregon set the bar last July by unveiling an absurdly lavish $68 million facility. Alabama’s facility completed last August features an anti-gravity treadmill.

Ohio State’s renovations still aren’t complete, so we’ll reserve judgment on whether its new digs can rival those of the Ducks or the Crimson Tide. Judging by Meyer’s pictures, though, it’s off to a good start.
