Kevin LoveWhat LeBron James wants, LeBron James usually gets. But the NBA’s best player isn’t the only party pushing the Cleveland Cavaliers to make a decision on Kevin Love.

The Love sweepstakes keeps dragging on, but the Minnesota Timberwolves reportedly are willing to “pull the trigger” on a trade with the Cavs, Gery Woelfel of the Racine (Wisc.) Journal Times tweeted Tuesday. Except now it’s the Cavs who are balking, apparently at Minnesota’s request for future No. 1 picks.

Cleveland can’t wait too long to make up its mind, however, as a dark horse continues to lurk in the background.

If Nikola Mirotic, a Montenegrin stretch-four, is made available by the Chicago Bulls, the Love saga may experience its first bidding war. Mirotic is highly regarded around the league — arguably higher than the Cavs’ No. 1 draft pick, Andrew Wiggins, by some — and his arrival in the NBA has been anticipated for a long time. Mirotic, 23, will make his NBA debut this season after playing the last three seasons with Real Madrid.
