Lil WayneLil Wayne has had a wildly successful career in the rap world. The avid sports fan is about to try his hand at something new as he follows in the footsteps of another popular hip-hop superstar.

TMZ reported Thursday, via sources, that Wayne is getting into sports management, and his first client will be one of the world’s most well-known and polarizing athletes — soccer superstar Cristiano Ronaldo.

Lil Wayne’s new company will work with PolarisSports, a company affiliated with Ronaldo’s agency. The two also are good friends, so the business relationship makes plenty of sense.

According to the report, the rapper’s group will handle Ronaldo’s affairs in America, such as marketing, endorsement deals and modeling.

The move from the music business to the sports world certainly is working out for Jay-Z, who officially became a sports agent last summer.
