The Los Angeles Lakers have reportedly landed Carlos Boozer, posting the highest bid for the forward who was amnestied by the Chicago Bulls on Tuesday.
The Bulls used the amnesty provision on Boozer to free up cap space for the newest member of their team, Pau Gasol. That led to a process in which teams around the league — who were under the salary cap — could submit blind bids on a portion of Boozer’s $16.8 million contract with the Bulls covering the remaining portion.
Although it is unknown at this time what the Lakers bid, they offered the most for Boozer’s talents and were awarded the 32-year-old, as first reported by ESPN’s Marc Stein.

Boozer, who spent four seasons with Chicago, averaged 13.7 points and 8.3 rebounds for the Bulls last year.
