Everyone makes spelling mistakes from time to time — just ask the Colorado Rockies.
The team held a Troy Tulowitzki shirsey night Saturday at Coors Field to honor their All-Star shortstop. The problem? His name was spelled incorrectly.

Tulowitzki has been with the Rockies since 2006, so you’d think the team would know how to spell its star player’s name. Colorado probably should look into a better proofreader for its promotional staff.
To make matters worse, Tulowitzki isn’t even in the lineup for his special night, as he’s on the disbaled list with a strained left hip flexor. It might be for the best, though. At least he didn’t have to see the gaffe in person.
UPDATE (9:15 p.m.): The Rockies told ESPN’s Darren Rovell that they knew about the spelling error but didn’t want to disappoint fans, so they handed out the 15,000 shirts anyway.
Fans can exchange the shirsey for a new one once it’s made. Fans also will receive a free ticket to a 2014 or 2015 game, Rovell reported.
