Becky Hammon broke barriers on Tuesday after she became the first paid assistant coach in NBA history.
That said, the new San Antonio Spurs assistant is not the first and she won’t be the last woman to accomplish an unprecedented feat in the world of sports.
Throughout the last century, women have paved the road for the future generations by either dominating in the Olympics, tennis and golf or by playing with (and sometimes defeating) men.
Their endeavors have helped create a level playing field between men and women in sports and have been instrumental in providing a progressive outlook for the future.
