Boston Red Sox pitcher Brandon Workman has great stuff, but the 25-year-old has lacked the control to really shine as a major league starter this season.
But he’ll have the chance to do so against the St. Louis Cardinals on Thursday.
Workman’s arsenal of pitches is impressive for a player his age. He has a fastball, cutter, changeup and curveball that have the potential to be deadly when he’s in control of them. The big righty showed how good he was at the minor league level, but he needs to have more confidence in his pitches on the major league stage to really live up to his potential.
