NFL: New England Patriots-MinicampThe Dallas Cowboys made a move to bolster their weak secondary by claiming Jemea Thomas off of waivers from the New England Patriots.

The team made it official Wednesday.

Thomas, who played college football at Georgia Tech, was a sixth-round pick in the 2014 NFL draft by the Patriots, but he was released on Tuesday.

The Cowboys ranked 30th in pass defense last season and could certainly use some added depth at safety, which is not a position of strength on their roster.
