Dustin Pedroia and his wife, Kelli, have contributed to the Dana-Farber hospital ever since they arrived in Boston.

Kelli volunteered there for nearly four years, and Dustin enjoys brightening the days of sick children at the Dana-Farber spring training trip.

Pedroia talked about how he gets just as much out of the trip as the patients do.

“Just knowing what they go through, it means a lot (to help), and it’s a responsibility for us as players to reach out and try to do anything we can to help,” Pedroia said.

Pedroia also talked about how the team looks up to the patients at the annual spring training trip.

“It’s fun to see them. You try to bring something good to that day.”
