Geoff Cameron Stoke CityGeoff Cameron has planted his feet firmly on the ground, as the soccer world turns around him at dizzying speed.

After featuring for the United States at the 2014 FIFA World Cup, Cameron returned to Stoke City FC recently. Almost immediately upon his arrival in England, Cameron became the subject of transfer rumors, which link him with a host of interested clubs.

But Cameron, 29, said he only is focused on preparing for the upcoming Premier League season with Stoke City, according to the Stoke Sentinel.

“I’m letting everyone else do the talking,” Cameron said Tuesday. “As of now, I’m at Stoke and happy to be at Stoke.

“My focus is on my playing and working hard every single day to try to better myself and better my team-mates.”

Cameron, a native of Attleboro, Mass., has been an ever-present figure since joining Stoke City from Major League Soccer’s Houston Dynamo in summer 2012, playing 79 games (in all competitions) for the Potters — primarily at right back.

Premier League clubs Hull City, Southampton, Sunderland, Swansea City, West Brom and the Bundesliga’s (German first division) Eintracht Frankfurt and Schalke all are interested in Cameron, according to the Mirror. The report also claims that Hull City is preparing a £4.5 million ($7.6 million) transfer offer for Cameron.

Whether Cameron stays in Stoke or moves elsewhere, it’s likely that his string of steady performances in one of Europe’s top soccer leagues will continue into the future.
